Canadians prefer to spend vacations within the homeland
A new CIBC survey conducted by Leger Marketing shows that 55 per cent of Canadian respondents are planning to take a vacation this summer. Potential tourists are going to spend $1 700 on average to enjoy some time away from home. This amount includes all expenses - travel to the resort, entertainment, and even the cost of leisure stuff. Albertans surveyed have the biggest travel budgets this summer, averaging $2 300. Residents of Quebec were planning to spend only $1 300 on average, among the lowest in the country. 74 % of respondents are planning a trip within Canada. 24 % are visiting the US. And the very few have expressed a desire to go this summer outside North America.
