Student protest in Quebec
Student protests in Quebec forced Education Minister Line Beauchamp to resign. The negotiations between representatives of agencies with students protesting against rising tuition fees, ended in failure. Line Beauchamp said she doubts the possibility of the parties to achieve consensus, as student organizations do not want to compromise. The unrest in the province of Quebec began in February this year. Nearly 170,000 students do not attend classes and spend protests, ending clashes with the police. Student organizations refuse to accept the increase in tuition fees in Quebec to 82% proposed by the provincial government to reduce the budget deficit.
