Porter Airlines was named the best small airline company in the world
Canada’s Porter Airlines ranked first worldwide according Conde Nast Traveler Magazine amongst the small airline companies.
The Toronto-based company was in the second place in this category for the past two years, and in the 6th place - in 2010. Overall, Porter ranked third among airlines in all categories.
Almost 80,000 readers took part in the 2013 Conde Nast survey. They gave preference to the air company which provides best service for passenger and intends to expand its presence in the Billy Bishop Toronto Airport in the near future.
“This is incredible recognition for everyone at Porter,” said president and CEO Robert Deluce in a statement. “We’re proud to represent Canada, our home city of Toronto and home airport at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport through this achievement.”
Porter is currently trying to expand its flight schedule across North America including Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is seeking approval from the city to expand its island operation, including extended runways that would accommodate new Bombardier planes that the airline has dubbed “whisper jets”.
